Cortinarius castaneodiscus (Horak) Garnier
A smaller species, its colour can vary from a yellowish brown to darker golden brown with a dark brown-umber papillate centre to the cap. The margin is usually striate. The cap is viscid but can seem glutinous in wet conditions. Cap diam: 15–30 mm. Under beech.
Given the right conditions, this species can appear glutinous. This photo was taken between showers.
