Anthocerotaceae
Known as "hornworts" this family is global in its distribution. Its name means 'flower horn', and refers to the characteristic horn-shaped sporophytes that all hornworts produce.

It is usually found on damp banks amongst other bryophytes. This image shows sporophytes developing on the thallus.
