It is quite distinctive with its upright stance. The name means heart-shaped stigma, which you will find if you carefully examine the inside of the flower. Spring-flowering. The ones I have found have been in more open areas eg. at the edge of the bush. |

A smaller green-hooded orchid, with different foliage at its base - the leaves are small and heart-shaped, growing in a rosette. Flowers mid-late winter. Note that the flower has a "jug-spout" look to it where the two lateral sepals meet.Also note that the basal leaves are "embossed". |
