Lunularia cruciata This species could be mistaken for a Marchantia, but the gemmae cups are crescent-shaped. The gemmae (the little round things in the cups) are a very effective means of vegetative reproduction so the sporophytes aren't often produced. When they are, they are cross-shaped stuctures on stalks, hence the name "cruciata". |
