Phylloporus novae-zelandiae McNabb Although these fungi appear to have gills, evidence from DNA studies places them in boletes. The cap can be various shades of brown, from dark brown when young to a yellowish brown when mature. The cap has a dry, finely felted cap surface which can vary from a covex to a centrally depressed shape. Cap diam: 25–90 mm. |
