Panus34

Panus purpuratus

This species is an ochraceous purple colour on the cap with decurrent gills which are creamy purple. The cap is funnel-shaped and up to 80–90 mm in diam. The stipe may be central or eccentric. It is found on fallen wood.

Although they have gills, and look rather like a Pleurotus, they are now classified as a polypore.
