Panus34

Panus purpuratus G. Stev.

This species is an ochraceous purple colour on the cap with decurrent gills which are creamy purple. The cap is funnel-shaped and up to 80–90 mm in diam. The stipe may be central or eccentric. It is found on fallen wood.

Although they appear to have gills, and look rather like a Pleurotus, they are now classified as a polypore.
