Laccaria lilacina (G. Stev.)

This is a beige coloured species covered in tiny dark fibrils. Cap diam: 15–35 mm. The gills are pale mauve.

Found under beech.

Laccaria masonii

This species can be quite variable. They are a violet colour when young but become fawn on maturity. Others can appear buff with dark fibrils and can be confused with L. fibrillosa. Cap diam: up to 25 mm.

An introduced species found under tea tree.

Laccaria violaceonigra G. Stev.

This is a dark brown to black species with small velvety scales on the cap. Cap diam: to 25 mm. The gills are greyish mauve. It has dark violet colours on the upper part of the stipe which is longitudinally fibrillose.

Found under beech.
