This species is a reddish brown colour. It has a striate cap with a depressed centre. Cap diam: up to 25 mm. The stem is long and smooth. Found in groups under beech and tea tree.

Laccaria laccata (Scop.) Cooke

This is an introduced species found under exotic trees. The cap is pale reddish brown to brownish pink and finely felty. Cap diam: up to 30 mm.
