Cortinarius majestaticus (E. Horak) T.P. Anderson & Orlovich A glutinous dark yellow-brown to date brown (with an olivaceous tinge) species. Cap diam: 30–70 mm. The gills are ochraceous brown and quite thick. The stipe is thick and light brown. There is a conspicuous striate ring placed high on the stipe. This species could be mistaken for C. subcastenellus but the latter has its ring lower on the stipe. Under beech. |
