Boletopsis nothofagi J.A. Cooper & P. Leonard

A New Zealand species of a northern hemisphere genus.

This species has only been recorded twice in NZ, the second time being when I found this specimen. It may be rare, or it may be that it seldom found when fruiting. It is associated with beech forest. The cap diameter can be up to 80–100 mm.
